Restorative Care
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is an advanced treatment in which the therapist uses a range of specialized and gentle rhythmic pumping movements applied to the skin in the direction of lymph flow. MLD stimulates the lymphatic vessel's body fluid (connective tissue fluid, lymph and venous blood) to flow, remove waste products, rectify metabolic dysfunctions, support the defense mechanism of the lymph system, balance the nervous system and relive congestion.
Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) will be applied where appropriate after an MLD session. CDT is the use of bandaging the edema area to decrease swelling. This is typically done in an intensive series of seven sessions over seven days.
MLD is a good choice for someone experiencing pain or swelling due to Primary or Secondary Lymphedema, Lipedema, Dystrophy, Reflex sympathetic, pregnancy or cranial and facial edema. MLD is also and effective treatment for trigeminal Neuralgia, Bell's Palsy, Meniere's Disease, Tinnitus, Migraines, Burns, Scars,
Strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Pre and Post surgery.
Internationally Recognized Precision
The Vodder Method
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a profound yet incredibly gentle treatment. Developed by Dr. Emil Vodder, this internationally recognized technique uses light, rhythmic skin-stretching to stimulate the movement of lymphatic fluid. Unlike traditional massage, MLD focuses on the superficial tissues to clear pathways, reduce swelling, and support the body's natural detoxification and immune responses.

The Vodder Technique
The therapy involves very light, rhythmic, and gentle skin-stretching motions. Unlike traditional massage, MLD focuses on the superficial lymphatic vessels. This process is deeply relaxing and reassures the nervous system while effectively reducing swelling and inflammation.
